Proposal to Add an Index Feature to Documents

■ Proposed Features

  • Navigation between the index and table of contents within a document

■ Background
When writing a work, it is inevitable that a massive consolidated document containing various settings—such as the world-building and characters—will be created.

However, as the document grows longer, it becomes cumbersome for the author to immediately locate specific settings or content.

To address this, we propose the introduction of an "Index" feature, which serves as a path and shortcut to quickly navigate to specific locations within the document.

■ Expected Benefits

  1. Maximizing Convenience and Efficiency in Information Search

While the recently added "Power Link" feature reduced discrepancies between documents and improved the convenience of cross-referencing, the "Index" feature will dramatically reduce the time required to navigate within a single document.

  2. Systematic Document Management (Prevention of Document Fragmentation)

The index will serve as a "table of contents" for scenario and configuration documents. Since there will be no need to split documents into multiple smaller parts for navigation, the total number of documents will decrease, enabling much cleaner and more systematic project management.

■ Conclusion

I believe this feature will bring great satisfaction to many users, like myself, who wish to manage setting documents more systematically and densely within a single file.

I ask for your positive consideration to help improve Novella’s work environment. Thank you.
