Ability to replace a word with another word at a time

I would like to see a process of search for a word > locate the word > replace with another word in one step.

This would save me a lot of time when I have a lot of proper nouns that I want to change, instead of having to go through them one by one.
I think there are a lot of other things that I would like to replace, not just proper nouns, but things like habitual typos or names that I want to change.
